Isabelle Brown from Lasseube

Isabelle says

It was with a great heart wrench that Simon and Isabelle fifteen years ago left South  Africa in order to move closer to family.   With their young children on a Safmarine container ship during the two weeks at sea they were able to nurture and treasure memories of the life they had stepped away from – farming in the outskirts of Stellenbosch as well as running the Dorp Street Gallery.

The  Aquitaine region of France beckoned.  The magnificent and mysterious Pyrenees, close proximity to Spain as well as a very marked local character were the main reasons for this choice.  The 1727 farmhouse over a few years was turned into a B+B.   Today indirectly this  allows us to travel by virtue of the enormous variety of people we receive.

Simon plants,  prunes and patches in the garden producing ever greater quantities of fruit, flowers and vegetables.  Isabelle,  a great « taster »,  then turns these into delicious,  flavourful dishes !
